Dominik Cydlik also known as C.Y.T. from Austria and Jason Chow from Singapore released the first volume of the BIDH (Best Italo Dance Hits) series back in 2007 with 40 hot italodance tracks on 2 CDs. Later that same year vol.2 was released with 38 tracks, however.

The first CD includes besides known ARC-Records artists such as Fabrizio E Marco, Masterbeat and S.T.B. a few major names such as Floorfilla, Datura and Jordi Carreras while also introducing a new concept of special ‘BIDH’ remixes made only for this compilation. It is wonderful to listen to such a varying selection of the best italo productions available at that time.

The trend continues on CD 2 with the two first tracks being productions by Paps’N’Skar. The second CD contains tracks from Rimini Project, DJ Cuad, Domasi, Luca Zeta and Danijay being the best known names. Except 2 eurodance tracks from Ann Winsborn and Kiana the second CD is actually pleasantly equal to the first but with a general style slightly more relaxed.

All in all Best Italo Dance Hits Vol.II is a great selection of italodance tracks from that time but you can clearly hear that the italo genre has changed since vol.1, if you consider that vol.1 also contained old tracks from the golden days. That also makes a drawback not being able to deliver such quality productions on vol.2. By quality productions I mean Jolly Mask, Lilu, Thomas and many others featured on vol.1. That said BIDH vol.2 is still a great compilation and definitely worth to check out for everyone with interest in the genre.
