Hotel Saint George is perhaps a bit of a strange name for a dance group, nonetheless the Hotel has made some of the best Italian dance since 2002 where Welcome To My Life, their first single, was released.
Now the long anticipated album is finally out, which besides their previous 6 singles: Welcome To My Life, Never Say Never, Lost In You, Looking 4 A Good Time, Figli Delle Tenebre and You Can Trust In Me includes 6 all new tracks. 6 new tracks on a 12-track album is without doubt an approved effort and it shows that the three producers Vanni Giorgilli (Vanni G), Roby Santini (RSDJ) and Davide Pignataro (David Bacon) definitely have put a lot of work in this album.
Hotel Saint George is known for their unmistakable italo pop-dance sound, the beautiful vocal, melodious refrains, well-written lyrics and energetic bass lines – the exact ingredients in every single track on this album!
Track list:
1. I Don’t Know Why 4.49
2. When The Rain Begins To Fall (Feat. Marta T) 5.19
3. Looking 4 A Good Time 3.42
4. Sometimes You… 4.57
5. Lost In You 3.05
6. Figli Delle Tenebre 3.46
7. Take You Love 3.44
8. Never Say Never 3.56
9. Naked On The Sand (Feat. Marta T) 3.57
10. Un Angelo Blu 3.23
11. Welcome To My Life 5.02
12. You Can Trust In Me (Feat. Tiffany) 3.03
The album begins with a nice little intro after which I Don’t Know Why starts.
I will not describe each of the 12 tracks because they actually remind a lot of each other. All dominated by the unique Hotel Saint George Sound in a very positive manor.
Some of the tracks differ a bit from the concept though. When The Rain Begins To Fall, Naked On The Sand and You Can Trust In Me all got a female voice to support the male voice, a combination that functions really well actually. Moreover You Can Trust In Me which is the 6th Hotel Saint George single is presented in a special pop mix.
Most of the tracks are with English lyrics but two of them are with Italian. It is the 5th single Figli Delle Tenebre and the new addition Un Angelo Blue. Italian is actually quite a beautiful language when sung and it fits surprisingly well with the gentle male vocal.
Also worth mentioning is that all songs are written and performed by Hotel Saint George themselves, except When The Rain Begins To Fall none are cover versions.
All in all an album where it is incredibly hard to make a top10 for the track list. When put in the CD player the album just offers pure pleasure from A to Z. I really cannot praise this album enough. Are you moved just the slightest by their perfectionist sound will you without doubt love this album - it is melodious Italian dance when it is best!
Everytime I play this album i'm thinking '"hmm..what song should I choose?..." So I put the 1st one..and I let the music play and the songs keep playing..well, as the review say, this is THE PERFECT italo-dance album !
No-one actually did a sound perfect as HSG one ! I mean, the synth, the lyrics.. it makes me remember of a perfect summer you know.
When i'm listening to HSG sound, it's like a drug! I just imagine i'm on a beach, @ sunset around 22h in summer, when the sky goes orange then rose and the lights around the beach starts..
I mean, I sounds like a crazy addict fan, but seriously, this is sooo perfect, I couldtalk about it hundreds of hours..
anyway, thanks for posting this review !
