Mike Olsen also known as Prezira and Mario Sciacca alias Mariano, vocalist and singer of Italian Rockaz, have joined forces on this new single released on BIT Records in Italy. The lyrics were originally intended for the Italian Rockaz project which Mario is a part of, but was turned down in favor of better lyrics, however. Even so Prezira and Mariano managed to get 2 Italian remixers to remix the song: DarkProject and djRaffy.
Let’s start out with the original mix which is produced by Prezira. If you have heard past Prezira productions you know the style very well, not much has been changed there. The song contains a strong chorus and a distinctive bass but it is as if something is missing somewhere, it does not sound as complete as it could. Furthermore the original version is only 3:16 minutes long, a length that would qualify it as a radio version. No extended version is included.
djRaffy Remix is a true extended version, the radio version is missing here, however. I can live without radio versions so nothing said there. djRaffy has a more classical approach to the italo style and delivers a fine remix though the chorus is not nearly as powerful as in the original mix. Overall it sounds more complete but lacks a little power to really get you moving.
DarkProject delivers the whole package with both an extended and a radio version. The package also includes a classic mix of modern italo style with lots of piano, a strong bass and very fitting chorus. DarkProject delivers the best remix of the single without doubt, but the weaknesses in the vocal are very hearable here unfortunately.
Not the greatest start for this duo, I would say, but they show that even with few means you can achieve something, luckily for them BIT Records agreed. Cuore Che Batte is probably not a song you will remember as a classic and I would not say that it is a must-have, but if you enjoy italo as much as I do it is definitely not a bad single to have in your collection.
Thanks for the review CFE. :- )
You are spot on, i agree with you.
