About 2 months after the release of Movimentolento vol. 1, Thomas Prioli and Carlo Oliva announced the next chapter in the Movimentolento series: Movimentolento Vol. 02 where various unknown deejays and producers also this time get a chance to show what they are capable of in the lento-genre.

Track list:

00. Intro
01. Doktor Veleno – Dark Sahara (Sabydark Vision)
02. Dj Lazor – Children Of Ivalice
03. Love Factory – Heaven
04. Giuseppe Sessini – Sballo
05. Padredibassi – Eppiness
06. Tonylaca – Musicomane
07. Dj Erminio – The Night
08. Jizm0 – Game Over (Tanzen Bubble Mix)
09. Dj Pulsar – Ballata Spensierata
10. Matto Folk – Enter The Mind
11. Marko Dust – Passi C’Mon
12. Ej Haus – Bambolotto
13. Iron Dee Jay – Detection
14. Dj Noa’ – Disco Dark
15. Mauro Destefano – Viaggioscuro (Dark Tunnel)

The second volume contains a lot of new names but a few known from the first (Love Factory, Dj Erminio, Jizm0 and Iron Dee Jay) have also found their way through. Fortunately there is no bonus track this time (YES!!!) and in contrast to the first volume lots of the tracks have a harder lento sound this time.

The second volume starts like the first with a little intro saying “Movimentolento Volume 2” followed by a lot in Italian. 1:04 in fades over to the first song “Doktor Veleno – Dark Sahara (Sabydark Vision)” who is one of the newcomers to volume 2. The track is quite dark and mysterious in the sound while the bass is milder. The songs could remind a bit of Egypt with its sound elements and a vocal saying “If my light…” even so it is nothing more than an average song.

Number 2 is “Dj Lazor – Children of Ivalice” which starts with some old school piano followed by a vocal sample and the bass a little later. 0:57 in the vocal fades out and is replaced by accordion sounds. The bass kick in again a little later and keeps running to the end. The melodic sound makes it a highly enjoyable track and one of the best on the CD.

Love Factory also known from the first volume is back again with a new track on the second entitled “Heaven” which starts right out with an incredible bass followed by an amazing melody 0:48 in. 1:46 the bass stops for the melody gain power around 2:00 in. 43 seconds later the bass kicks back in the most beautiful ending of any track on the CD, clearly one of the personal favourites.

“Giuseppe Sessini – Sballo” is also a new project. It has many good Lento Violento elements, an okay bass and a male vocal sample that fits the track. I also like the tempo (100 BPM) but the bass should be more powerful – that would have made it a better track since it is a bit boring now.

On to number 5: “Padredibassi – Eppiness” which is a bit of a funny fusion between different elements but still nice and slow Lento Violento. The song includes a male vocal saying nonsense and a little whistling sound lasting for 5 seconds too, overall a bit odd but quite nice a track.

“Tonylaca – Musicomane” is number 6. It has a really great bass though the vocal sample is not very good. Around 0:19 in an accordion starts, it keeps running until 01:10 where it fades out for the vocal sample to start again. 01:55 the vocal stops (Thank God!) and a nice melody starts. If they had removed the vocal from the track this could have been better but with it, it is nothing more than average.
Number 7 is: “Dj Erminio – The Night”, Dj Erminio also known from Movimentolento Vol. 01. This track has, like the first, a dark and mysterious sound too. It starts with a really slow but great bass together with a few sound effects. 0:38 in the bass breaks but starts again right after with an OK melody. 01:17 the vocal sample begins with the bass and runs till 03:28 where the vocal sample stops along with the bass, it starts again at 03:41. Not a fantastic song but quite ok.

Now to my personal favourite on this Album: “Jizm0 – Game Over (Tanzen Bubble Mix)” I have listened to it way too many times even so it is still a great song. It starts with some nice sound effects and a really cool robot voice saiying: “Game Over” just afterwards the bass starts. The bass is really deep, very slow, but quite good. About 0:40 in a vocal sample, which fits the bass perfectly, start. About 01:26 in the main theme starts. People that played arcade games in the old days will at an instance recognize the melody as the theme from Bubble Bobble an old arcade game from 1986 (I played this game a lot when I was younger). If you loved the video game you will without doubt like this one, clearly the best on Vol. 2.

”Dj Pulsar – Ballata Spensierata” is next and also one of my favourites. It starts with something played from an old gramophone where you can hear the scratches and the sound from the 1930s. About 19 seconds in the Lento sound start with some sound effects and a great bass. Around 01:29 a nice flute instrument starts together with some piano. It grows and at 02:26 the bass kicks in again and making this a wonderful track that even non-lento fans could enjoy.

Number 10 is: ”Matto Folk – Enter the Mind” and what a base it has! It starts out with some great effects and the bass just after. The vocal sample fits the track perfectly and you can really hear that the bass really is priority which, in my opinion, is a very nice thing.

The next track is ”Marko Dust – Passi C’Mon” which is really a funny track. It has many remarkable Lento Violento elements. The Bass is great, very deep and powerful and the vocal sample is a bit of funny too but fits the track still. Even though it sounds a bit odd you can nothing but like it.

”Ej haus – Bambolotto” is number 12. It has a really slow and deep theme. The bass is very Lento Violento-ish, very deep and slow but sounds really great. It has many different sound elements, and the vocal sample used fits very well the theme. About 02:12 in a really weird sound effect starting with the volume down fading slowly up starts. 02:50 the bass kicks back again, quite an ok lento production.

”Iron Dee Jay – Detection” is somewhat of an experimental track. The Bass is very good, except from 01:04 to 01:14 where it sounds like a slow hard style bass which personally is not wanted. Fortunately it only lasts for 10 seconds. The track also has many different sound effects and a short vocal sample saying: ”This, should be played in high volume” once afterwards the track goes back to where it were. It reminds of the project Lento Violento Man and is generally not very interesting compared to the other great tracks this compilation has to offer.

The second last track is: ”Dj Noa’ – Disco Dark” which contains all the basic things: a great bass and a weird vocal sample. The main theme is just some sound effect put together with the bass, however it sounds pretty good and lasts from 01:27 to 02:25 min and again from 03:22 min to 04:00.

”Mauro Destefano - Viaggioscuro (Dark Tunnel)” is the last track on this album. Unfortunately it is not the best track you could imagine in an end of a compilation but it is far better than the bonus track ”La Sirena” from Movimentolento Vol. 01. The song is dark and mysterious in the sound though the bass is not very powerful. The Tempo is very slow and without any catchy theme it makes it a bit boring.

Overall the Movimentolento team has done a great job yet again where vol.2 actually is a bit better than vol.1. There are many great tracks on this compilation and I am quite surprised to see that many talents under their wings. Hopefully we will hear more from these splendid fellows in the future. At least I can’t wait for the next ”Movimentolento” chapter.
