omg!
I haven't narrated my history about italodance discover!

Well... I'll begin there...

Everything has begin when I was 4 or 5 years old (but also instinctively) because my brother was a DJ that played mostly 90's eurodance music (like Alexia, Ice MC and Da Blitz) then my brother has tought me that music is called "Dance music".
Then I was listening this music into the compilations he bought (Deejay Parade compilations) and I've liked this genre, because it was melodic and listenable also @ home.
One day, when I was 8, I've discovered another kind dance music by listening at a radio, a "strange" song that sings "i'm blue da ba dee...", i've tought myself "this is very strange song, but I like it". Then when I've listenen another CD compilation (Euro Dance volume 1 mixed by Gigi d'Agostino), i've listenen again that song, and I falled in love with this genre. (Altrough I haven't called it Italo Dance, just Dance music)
Then I've discovered the real world of Dance music: my brother an evening was playing at a local club these records: was really a great experience!
Then, in the 2004, I've started to know another kind of music: House Music, and I've noted that was a way different than Dance music (before I've thinked was the same thing, but my brother has tought "this genre is more different than Dance music because the sounds are another thing and less annoying than Commercial Dance music". (2004 was the moment when Italo Dance was being replaced by House music)
And there I've started to know that Dance music genres are different.
House music wasn't really my genre (was a waydifferent than my original throught of Dance music) so i've searched, in the 2005, another music genres, and I've discovered Hands Up, so I've loved it because has the same sounding of 140 bpm Dance music. And I've tought myself "Commercial Dance music is still produced".
But I was deluded by the local radios, because they was playing in that moment only House and Elektro House music (and was also starting the Minimal/TekHouse scene)
So... in the 2006 was all by House and Hands Up music.
(Note that in the 2004-2007 era I hadn't much interest to Dance music, because this was the era that I was writing my own songs and training in music production)
In the 2006, I've also discovered Lento Violento genre, by listening the Gigi compilation on the home of a my friend.
But... in the 2007 I've rediscovered the original dance genre by listening a compilation called "New Dance Hits 2007" and by listening some songs of Sanny J, Luca Zeta and also the Italo Dancer 2007 remix.
So I've searched for Sanny J over the web, and I've found a great web-radio station, called IDN, so I've actually know the music that I've loved for all those years, was called ITALO DANCE.
Then I've meet all the italodance fans, and know also other fans by subscribing to IDP (I remember that Seb tought me that @ IDN-M, the November of 2007)
Well... Then you may know the current story Wink

it was in 1999, i was 12 years old... i had been on holiday in norway. on the way back, somewhere in denmark i think, i was listening to the radio, and suddenly they played eiffel 65's "blue (da ba dee)". i immediately fell in love with the song. at first i thought they might be scandinavian, but back in germany i found out they were italian... i then became a huge fan of eiffel 65, bought all their cds and listened to them for hours. when i was in italy some months later that year i noticed that there's lots of great music on the radio and i got to know some more bands and djs... i registered many songs on tape and listened to them over and over again...

I first discovered Italodance when I was on holiday in Lido Di Jesolo in 1998/9 (can't remember exactly and I heard Prezioso - Tell Me Why CONSTANTLY on the radio, I didn't know the artist or anything at the time. And I went in to a record shop called "Music Farm" and said in VEEEEEERY broken Italian if they know the song and I sang part of it, lol!! and they told me the artist is Prezioso....then when I got back from holiday we (me & my parents) got home at like 2/3am and the first thing I did was look on the internet on my good old 56k modem to find it and download it Wink the rest is history.

I also have a good friend who's originally from Italy, Noff. We used to listen to Radio Deejay together and Radio Italia Network Smile good times!

I LOVE Italo Dance, it's so great Smile

Some of my favourite tracks:-

Neja - Time Flies
Gigi D'Agostino - Star
Naive - Looking 4 Happiness
Basement Three - Everytime I Say
Paps N Skar - You Want My Love
Prezioso - Tell Me Why (of course! lol)

mmm i don't remember.... around 2001-2002 (so i was 7-8) my brother started to enjoy italo and bought (not much) and download (a lot xD) of italo cd, and i startedto enjoy it too xDunfortunatly i was so young... then after 2004... the disastre... i don't know why but italian radio decided that italo should die Oh Really! so house became the most popoular genre... but i don't like it! i contiuned too listen italo Cool
now i listen electro too (i'm starting to use cdj and i must play italo if i want that someone listen to me...) but i still love italo and hope that one day it will return!

For me it all started in the summer of '99. 3 guys from Italy called Eiffel65 came with a single Blue (da ba dee) and I was crazy about it. Then I started searching for more songs from Eiffel65 and found the album Europop which I bought. From then I started collecting Italodance. I'm very proud having my Italodance collection. I think I got over 1000 different songs from A.C. One to Ztera.

ENGLISH:
My history with the italodance begins like this:
I never in my life had heard italodance, neither knew that there was a genre of music that made you feel tremendous emotion. before I met this beautiful genre of music I loved to rock in general NIRVANA, METALLICA, MARILYN MANSON, THE DOORS, JOE SATRIANI were my favorites and some groups in Spanish.

My first encounter with this genre that I love so much and who always will defend and take you in my ears and my heart goes back to 2001.
It was an afternoon in which I was walking down the street, pass by small shops of my city, in every store is different listening to loud radios, but I call more attention and which had the need to go to find out where that pretty resounding song with the melody to which I put all the creeps and feeling other emotions to the point of feeling a lump in my throat of tremendous emotion, happiness .... was a radio at that time was very popular in my city "Eco" the name of the radio, and my luck at the end of the song the radio announcer mention the name of this, I remember him saying so "vuela conmigo de GIGI DAGOSTINO" i had the need to write down what he had heard but did not have a pen or anything, so try to record the name and then to look on the Internet.

At night I went to an internet near to my house, "which at that time did not have an internet connection at my house" and try to remember all I could give was... yiyi Lagostina - vuela conmigo"
to start I did not know that gender was the one who had heard and even less that the person I believe that great song was a male, since the Person that the singer was a girl, I fell in love with that little voice so cute. my surprise when I discovered all over the internet. and that is why for my GIGI is a myth. is the teacher of teachers as always and told the friends who I met with the same taste for this genre.

ps. I had already heard eiffel 65, listened too on MTV but I do not call much attention or interest. I know all this thanks to you big "GIGI D'AGOSTINO"
