Magna Romagna - Atto Primo EP

Magna Romagna - Atto Primo EP

September 8th, 2019 / By: Wausti

We're sure many has been waiting for this and now it's finally happening!... Magna Romagna is coming with their first official release!

Another year had gone by.... then the summer came... and like tradition the two guys met on a small seafood restuarant, in the region of Emilia Romagna. They sat down and had a good time, and during the dinner they saw a photo of Donald Trump making a deal with Kim Jong-Un in North Korea, that day. They decided that, that wasn't the only historical deal that should be made that day... The leaders of Magna Romagna and Moto Remoto would agree upon making their first official release!
The rest is history... They posted a photo of them sealing the deal with a handshake, and the comments convinced them that they made the right choice!

Simone Gennari known as "Genna" and Davide Genchi known as "Enki" are two italian guys who met each other on the forum of Gigi D'Agostino.
They both shared the passion of electronic dance music and were also making music themselves. They started sharing ideas with each other through the good old MSN messenger chat service and in 2004 they started to produce together, where they created the project "Magna Romagna". The name "Magna Romagna" comes from another common passion of theirs. It's named after a region in northern Italy called Emilia Romagna. Genna was born there and still lives close by today, Enki spent most of his childhood summers there too. It was the center of Italo Disco back in the 80s and later Italodance, especially the Rimini area with sun, beach, lots of tourists and the legendary club L'Altromondo Studios, so for them it's a very special place with a lot of great memories. Therefore they added the word "Magna" which means "Great" in latin and so "Magna Romagna" was born.
(Bonus info: Their logo is a "Piadina" (a flatbread) with sunglasses, which is also an Emilia Romagna speciality, without the sunglasses though.)

The guys are also behind the name "Moto Remoto" which they use for their harder Slowstyle tracks, and now also the name of the label which this EP will be released on.

Their sound is very much influenced by the sound of Gigi D'Agostino, and that makes sense since they met through Gigi's forum community and had passion for that type of sound.
In the following years, they started sending their tracks to Gigi D'Agostino which he then played in his sets and shows, and they recieved amazing feedback.

Nowadays they have slowed down with producing, but still make a track or remix once in a while, which can be found e.g. at their soundcloud page.

The tracklist... you'll have to wait a bit for that but! We can reveal that it will contain 3 tracks and will be released as a digital release... you should keep an eye out at Magna Romagna's Facebook page in the following days for more info!

....more EP's are already planned to come in the next couple of months, but how many is still unknown to us.
